This weekend news hit the wires that the Virage, which was slotted in between the DB9 and DBS, has been killed off for the 2013 model year. It more or less makes sense as the Virage was literally in the middle of both the DB9 and DBS in every way -- price and power.

Likely, Aston Martin couldn't justify a business case for it.

Moving forward though, it appears that the 2013 DB9 will be getting a more updated look that's in line with the all-new Vanquish. Of course it will not be as aggressively styled, but that should keep the old-school Aston lovers happy if they prefer a more elegant and less "boy racer-ish" look.

It seems that Aston is moving fast too as we see in these images that the vehicle appears ready to hit the ground, AND the convertible variant is ready to ship as well.
