One of the many reasons why I love the Paris Motor Show is because it always seems to feature an interesting mix of vehicles. Some practical, some you see everyday, then there's the zany stuff.

If you take a look at the photos below, it gives you a hint of what I am talking about.

Take, for example, the Porsche Cayenne Diesel, which is set to premiere in Paris. It's not anything out of this world. Simply a Cayenne with a diesel powerplant dropped under the hood.

Then there's a hint of the interesting with a vehicle like the Audi SQ5. It's an S car so it is a performer but here's the catch. It too is a diesel. Even better though, Audi will be producing a limited, special batch and that's the SQ5 that will debut with some Parisian beauties -- at least we assume.

Now, here comes the zany.

Peugeot really went a bit off the wall with its all-new concept, Onyx. It's a hybrid supercar concept, which is actually not all that off-the-wall these days. What is cool though is that its construction features copper sheetmetal, which will age like the Statue of Liberty -- we think -- and the interior that's made of recycled newspaper. Make sure to check out that close-up image that shows the text. You wouldn't know it's newspaper from far away though because Peugeot gave it a "grain," that's similar to wood.

As we gear up for Paris, be sure to check back as we stay on top of the latest news and images flowing from across the globe.
