BMW is adding a row-it-yourself six-speed manual transmission option to its range of M6 models for the 2014 model year. The in-house designed six-speed gearbox will be available in M6 Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe models.
Designed specifically for the M5 and M6 by BMW's M performance division, the six-speed gearbox will be offered as a no-cost option for all M6 variants for the 2014 model year. Previous M6 models were hooked exclusively to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
