Audi is set to introduce the world’s first electric turbo charged engine in the next-generation Q7 SUV.
The German brand has recently previewed the new technology in a RS5 TDI concept, and Audi’s head of diesel-engine development, Ulrich Weiss, confirmed to Drive at the Le Mans 24-hour race that it will become a production reality “very soon”.
“I can confirm we are working on the development of the e-boost definitely,” he said.
“Be sure that Audi will bring it to the market. Maybe it will be not this year. But it will be very soon.”
