BIMMERFEST EAST 2014: THIS Is The ESSENCE Of Bimmerfest — A Social, Grassroots Lovefest

If you think that Bimmerfest is simply just a bunch of BMW owners getting together in a massive parking lot, boy, do we have a lot to show you. That's because Bimmerfest is more than that. Seriously.

The thing I like about the grassroots event is that it's a gathering of like-minded individuals — relatively speaking. Everyone has a love for their respective BMW and it's brought out in different ways. In addition, there's a significant amount of appreciation for EVERYONE's ride.

Whether it's an all-new M4 or old-school 2002 Ti, it doesn't particularly matter. You're guaranteed to see something you haven't seen before and there's a chance it'll be on sale. Oh yeah, the vendors aren't the only ones with wares to pitch.

Some folks come to the show looking to buy parts from other BMWphiles and some even come to try and sell their wheels — their cars or, literally, a set of wheels.

One thing I noticed about this year's event is how many more of the folks have become friendly. The first couple of years a lot of folks had the typical, guarded east coast mentality. Now you can walk up to the owner of a vehicle and have an extensive conversation while sharing passion for the BMW brand. There was at least a handful of occasions I found myself chatting alongside a vehicle for up to 30 minutes.

You gotta love it!
