To say Volkswagen had a rough year would be an understatement. As VW continues to work its way out of a very hairy situation that seems to have decreased in scope and the impact it will produce on one of the world's biggest auto manufacturers, it looks like the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) may be one way to distract the press from the mess it created.

VW has released a brief teaser video showing something it will be bringing to the CES event, but no further details have been released.

Speculation on the street seems to suggest that the Germans will bring yet another Microbus concept to show off some tech. As seen in the YouTube description, the company is riffing off of the Internet of Things (IoT) and we can't think of a better way to showcase the variety of things possible via the IoT than a huge VW van.

Given VW's track record with all things indicating a future with a VW bus, we're going to assume nothing will actually come of a concept Microbus. Just us, though.

The Internet of Things is making our cars more and more intelligent. We’ll show you just how helpful this can be in your mobile life from 6 to 9 January 2016 at the world’s leading trade fair for innovative technologies in Las Vegas.
