American Honda Motor Co, Inc, posted July sales of 141,049 Honda and Acura vehicles, down 3.2 percent on a daily-selling-rate basis*, the company announced today. American Honda year-to-date sales totaled 907,978, up 1.1 percent.

Honda Division posted July sales of 126,668, down 1.2 percent versus last year, while Honda car sales totaled 71,755, up 5.9 percent. The Fit, up 110.8 percent to 6,343, broke its all-time sales record for the second straight month. The CR-V sold 20,083, up 35.3 percent to post a new July record, also achieving its second-best all-time sales month. The Ridgeline set a record for July with sales of 4,641, up 11.3 percent, and the Accord achieved sales of 37,142, up 1.7 percent on a daily-selling-rate basis for July and posting its best month this year.

"Small SUVs and small cars have shown the strongest sales growth in 2007," said Dick Colliver, executive vice president of American Honda. "The CR-V and Fit are two of Honda's - and the industry's - fastest selling vehicles."

Acura Division sales decreased 17.7 percent to 14,381. Sales of the all-new MDX increased by 7.3 percent to 4,949, and RDX sales totaled 1,383.

*The daily selling rate (DSR) is calculated with 24 days for July 2007, versus 25 for 2006. Year-to-date, the DSR is calculated with 178 days for 2007, versus 177 for 2006. All percentages in this press release reflect DSR.
