The term ‘race car built for the road’ is thrown around a lot these days, often used to describe regular cars with stiffened suspension, go-fast aero bits and a set of sporty wheels, however, there’s one car that truly encapsulates the meaning of the phrase and that’s the Porsche 911 GT3. Named after the FIA GT class in which it was intended for, the 911 GT3 has always been something very different in comparison with the rest of the 911 fleet. Combine this with Porsche’s RS ‘Rennsport’ specification and you’re left with a much tougher and meaner 911, capable of outpacing a number of high profile supercars around a track.
