As Ford Authority reported yesterday, a video recently posted to TikTok quickly went viral, and for good reason – it depicted a wild scene where a Ford Mustang Mach-E was seen traveling at high speed while scraping along a guardrail before it crashed violently into another vehicle. What was particularly odd about the video is that we can clearly see the driver is seemingly praying rather than trying to steer the out of control vehicle, and their hazard lights were on – not the brakes. Now, we’re learning that the driver was apparently under the influence at the time of the incident.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) of Redwood City, California, became aware of this video and wound up posting some more information about the incident on Facebook, helping to clear up a lot of misinformation and speculation that has been floating around. CHP notes that when they arrived on the scene, they determined that the Ford Mustang Mach-E wasn’t being driven with BlueCruise activated at the time of the crash, as some had speculated, and that the driver was arrested under the suspicion of driving under the influence.
