Everyone has different tastes in motorsports. Some people love NASCAR, and some people would like to see a NASCAR driver make a right turn. Some people love drag racing, and some people think it's not really racing. Some people think a tractor pull is ridiculous, and some people think it's a great exhibition of power.

Still, unlike any of the examples above, TUG-A-TRUCK (a hill-billy version of tug-a-war) is the most destructive and skill-less motorsport in existence. Two "competitors" strap their trucks together end-to-end and then hit the gas to see who can pull the other over the line.

Nothing can prepare a truck for the torture this little "sport" puts it through. The tremendous forces at work result in bent frames, melted transmissions, snapped drive shafts, fires, and more.

While their *might* be some skill involved (whoever can hit the gas pedal faster likely has some advantage), it's hard to argue that this is very complicated. No shifting is required (lowest gears work best), and very little driver input is needed aside from a lead foot.

Tug-a-truck, in a word, sucks. It's a sport for idiots. Anyone care to disagree? If so, can you explain what skills are required to compete? To an outsider, it looks like a mentally-challenged dwarf with a deformed right foot would be a strong competitor - am I wrong?
