Our Swedish dictionary says "godsvagn" is the term for wagon, and Volvo's V70 should make people drop all their presumptions about such cars.
Under the hood of this Volvo is not a four or a six, but a five. The Göteborg, Sweden-based automaker seems to be in love with this particular configuration, even though a smoother engine would result with an even number of cylinders.
Outfitted with a 2.5-liter five, the V70 packs 300 horsepower with a turbocharger and intercooler added on, just to keep things interesting. That results in a zero-to-60 run of about 6.5 seconds with the six-speed automatic and 5.6 seconds with the manual stick (we put the automatic through its paces).
