Cadillac CTS-V: The Next American Classic?

A great car with the ability to become even greater. GM hopefully with take this to heart, focus on designing new future engines that will have better return on fuel consumption and forward the engineering and not allow this car to become obsolete. I love the quality of this car and its looks. Audi does something to me, but this car is a close second in standard and V-Series.

GM did such a great job with the CTS, it is easy to predict good things to come from the V model. Now if Cadillac could put this much effort into a new STS, followed by a DTS, I would jump on the American bandwagon yet again.

The CTS-V is an awesome car, looks great, handles great, fast as shit. I won't buy it new but I will be watching the used car market in 2-3 years to see what kind of deal I can get on one.

I would get the M3 over the cts-v in a heartbeat,The cts-v starts with a price tag way above anthing in its catagory.Yeah Yeah I know it is suppose to compete with the M5 and E63 but if thats the cts-v main rival then I guess we got the sts for the 7 series and s classes what a joke.The CTS-V is way over priced for its main competition which truly is the M3,C63,ISF.GM stop taking tax payer money and build more cars like the pontiac G8

Classic may be an understatement...at the rate GM is going you may never see another car like this from the General in a long time...get it while it's hot and keep it safe, clean and pristine!

I'm (pleasantly) surprised there isn't more bashing on this thread. Might I suggest to those of us who aspire to get a CTS-V in a year or two to montior the market for leftover "lst year's models" instead of used? I got my '04 for $11,000 off sticker once the '05's arrived and instantly offset 20% of the intital depreciation.

Funny observation from the article: "19 inches wide and 9 inches thick" sounds like the dimensions of a piece of pipe to me...
