I knew the LR3 would get dead last...even though that's the one I'd pick...I like real SUV's. The others are only fit for a trip to the ski lodge (with the exception of the GX, which actually has low range, along with the Touareg, but I wouldnt drive a vdub).

Wrong. The ML is pretty offroad capable. I've seen this truck in action down on some rocky sections in Colorado when I was there on vacation. A friend of mine has the ML350 and he's an enthusiastic offroader, even with his luxury SUV.

if Acura can transfer this winning formula from their new MDX into their next generation of sedans(TSX, TL, RL, future flagship Legend etc..), they will do very well. I'm sure there have always been a group of Acura fans like myself who have always known Acura's potential to be great. It seems like if they keep this up, Acura will finally get the recognition it deserves.

My choice would be the Landrover Discovery 3 (or LR3). It is a brilliant car (especially with the 2.7 TDV6 engine).

I'd have the Volvo, more car like with better economy and performance than the Discovery.

And the Volvo is also a lot cheaper than the X5 and ML.
I'd have the 3.2 6 with it, the diesel is more expensive, which is odd, as it's way slower...

what's this? acura advertising?

how stupid can one be to believe that acura has a better fit and finnish/interior styling than a touareg or a ML?
The actual touareg, with air suspension, is even more capable than LR3 and probably than Range Rover!
Why? It has a higher ground clearance, better approach angles, more powerful engines(313 Hp V10TDI & 450HP W12), 2 locking diffrentials, low range gears...

It's even more luxurious and advanced than any other competitor... luxury items: the entire dash covered with fine leather(nappa vw individual), besides the seats... other amenities(available at least for the european version): RNS510 multimedia unit (clour touch screen,DVD-ROM, 30 GB HDD for nav and audio storage, mp3,wma and dvd-video play capability, SD card reader, 2d/3d maps), voice control, rollover sensors, park-pilot with rear back-up camera, 12-way power front seats, heated front&back seats, rear seat entertainment(7" color monitor, separate DVD-player, 2 IR headsets), adaptive cruise control, side assist, power tailgate, and many other things...

of course, such a spec doesn't come cheap... but it's really unfair & stupid at the same time to try to suggest that such trashy cars like acura mdx or cadillac srx might be better than a touareg or even an ML... actually the whole comparison test is stupid! all these cars are too different from one another...
