Does the Mustang GT make the new Genesis Coupe look like a chump?

I like how the mustang look over the genesis. But does it beat the genesis price value and performance?

Interesting article. You would have to say if your strictly a numbers person and that is your primary "M O" for picking one performance car over another you would have to go with the Z. Further it does have IRS over the Mustang. But it appears that Ford has really upped it's game with the track pack and supposidly will be out with a direct injection 5.0 that makes 400HP with better fuel economy next yr.Even with a solid cart rear axle Ford seems to be able to make the Mustang handle amazingly well with the track pack. Assuming you can get the base GT with the $1450 track pac you can get a very satisfying car for probably just over 30 grand. The suspension option on the base Z is 3 grand making it still about 4 grand more then the Mustang. I have to say I like the Z styling the best of the 3 but the Mustang restyle is still quite attractive.I would still take a Mustang GT over the Genesis V6 as it looks better and performs better as well. The Genesis is a good first effort and if you go for their performance pack 4 cylinder track version that to me is the best buy for the Genesis coupe in terms of price and being rear drive.

The Mustang GT is a tough, no-nonsense American muscle car. The Genesis is a baby-sitter's car. 'Nuff said.

As far as performance and driving dynamics are concerned, the 370Z leaves no doubt which car is the best here.

But for all the other situations, I'd pick the Mustang. It has the V8 appeal remaining two cars lack yet it can more or less keep up in terms of fuel consumption with its V6 rivals.

It also has the pony car look and charm, interior is no longer crap and despite its live axle at the rear it's not outhandled that badly. BTW live axles have great geometry advantages over any multilink suspension as long as roads are perfectly smooth.

One more good performance from Ford after the new Taurus and Fusion Hybrid.

So Americans managed to make an initially better car than Koreans. Whether it's something to be proud of or not is a different story.

The thing that holds me back from picking the Z over the Mustang is it's engine. Yes it does have slightly better performance then the Mustang but you really have to go to a track with equipment to measure it out. I'm sure in the real world you cannot tell.Every magazine that has done a test on the Z continually mentions about the engine vibration and it's course sound as you get close to the red line. To me that is a major built in defect of the VQ engine. Until Nissan can engineer this out I don't think I would by a V6 Nissan. Yes it has great styling but so does the Mustang. The handling is probably better but you have to get the sport package to get that handling. The stock Z probably does not handle any better then the Mustang with the sports pack even though they are priced similar.Further it's easier to see out of a Mustang then the Z and the Stang has more room. So unless I'm going to the track I can't see buying a Z over a Mustang at this point.

Can't really judge both cars since there in different categories...but looks wise Mustang has more beef and definition. Its like comparing King Kong to a Mouse.

WTH is a muscle car? Mustang V6 is out muscled by family sedans like Camry, Altima, Maxima, TL. The V8 mustangs torque is outclassed by just about all Luxury cars with a V8. It's no faster than many 4cyl econo-rocket box. Would it be more appropriate to call it a factory Ricer?

The Hyundai Genesis is clearly the better platform car. More people would be interested in modifying this car because initial cost of the car and the fact that it is much more modern than the Mustang. I mean what comes to mind when you look at a mustang? Well for me its an inbreed retard.

They're called snow tires. If you live where it snows, put them on and turn off the overdrive if the road is covered with snow. At the very least get some Michelin all-season treads on there.

My late 95 elantra was a joy in the snow as well as the current 93 Sentra and I'd like to thank Michelin - "Because so much is riding on your tires." Seriously, tires people. So many sport/luxo car buyers get them with the racing tires and don't even think about winter. I believe in Europe they have laws requiring winter treads in winter weather.
