Infiniti EX35 - Better than Acura RDX and BMW X3?
Motive Magazine:
The EX feels better than either the Acura or the Bimmer on the road. Compared with the front-biased Acura, the EX is better balanced and doesn't feel like an upscale Nissan, while the RDX does, at times, drive like a tarted-up Honda CR-V. The BMW X3's mid-cycle refresh fixed a lot of that vehicle's problems, but it still suffers from an overly harsh ride. By comparison, the EX35 is just about as good of a handler, without sacrificing ride quality.

how about someone replaces that photo of a 2004 X3 interior and replaces it with a photo of a NEW X3 interior? It was redesigned over a year ago and is much nicer than all the complainers on here who haven't sat in one for four years remember. The creme beige leather with black trim is very attractive.

All three are predominantly bought by women (or are going to be), but the X3 seems to be the most feminine.

The Infiniti looks like a wedding cake and the Acura looks like a Al In One printer.
The BMW looks like a mans SUV.

Infiniti is drop dead gorgeous, both in/out !!!
the Acura just doesnt look rite to me...plus i doubt it can perfrom like the EX
the BMW is horrible inside. its one of the main reasons i am not drawn to BMW's. yur spending hard earned cash on basics, whereas the EX looks like a lot of time/effort was put into the design.
EX all the way!

None of them look particularly attractive inside or out.
I would go for the BMW in gun-metal grey with full colour-coding because it doesn't look like some behemoth beast like the Infiniti and doesn't look like a CR-V that's starred in the 'Face Off' movie.
I also like the fact the dashboard on the BMW looks like a dashboard and not the front of some chintzy Hi-Fi system.

The EX will be Infiniti's second launch car in Europe - and byt the looks of it it's going to be a hot seller.
It looks good, drives well (I assume) and if they fit the right engines... (diesel diesel diesel!) it will do well.
Plus it has pillar less front doors! How cool is that!

Have a look on the interior pick of the Infiniti - the door is open, sans pillar.

Nope, the doors do have pillars, but in other good news, according to the U.S. patent office, Nissan trademarked the names EX30d, G30d, M30d and FX30d...so expect a 3.0L diesel. I wouldn't be surprised if the 2.5L V6 from the Japanese market made it as well...Looks like a winner

I'm not too fond of any of these vehicles but I would have to pick the EX35. If the RDX had a six cylinder then that would be the choice. The X3 is overpriced and under styled. I think the EX looks best in dark colors

I love Acura but am not a big fan of the RDX because the MDX for a little more is so much better. But torque wise the RDX is killing the EX and I think the Ex is too low to the ground it looks more like a wagon.
Also the car article talks about the lack of the exhaust note, I do not think any of the new infiniti's do that anymore that was a phase I just heard like a 03 G the other day and it sounded horrible. the exhaust note is unique but after a few years of carbon build up it sounds horrible.
I definetly like the features though but that raises the price and then you might as well go with the boot (FX).

The FX probably has a smaller trunk than the EX, to be honest. Just more passenger space. Neither is hugely practical, but that's not the point. The EX35 is obviously an urban car--and they did that better than Acura for sure. "Lower to the ground" is a good thing; Infiniti isn't putting up a fake front and pretending this car can off-road. It can't, and they make no apologies. It's a performance luxury sedan on stilts, and that's what people want.

The ex35 will probably be the class leader in the looks dept, both interior and exterior. However, based on the info i have read, the ex35's rear seat room will only be around 28.5". Therefor what is the purpose of this vehicle, it's just a g35 coupe with a backpack.

"worthless and weak"-Warren Oates, I struggle with this segment. I mean whats the point? Yes, I would like a 35k+ SUV, that can't go off-road, and I don't plan on carrying anything more than my Gucci handbag, and could you make sure that gas mileage is below that of a more competent, cheaper, and better handling wagon.
Dumb category, for dumber people.

I think you should have realized that about 75% of 2000+ SUVs are not meant to go off-road! And they don't need to!
If there is market for something it will be built! There is no such thing as DUMB category!

The actually number is 92% never go off-road. My point is; buy the cheaper, better handling, more economical and in most cases roomier wagon.
Jack a wagon up in the air 2" charge three grand more for it and make it uglier, that seem to be what people want.
By the way I own and SUV and I use it off-road, a lot. If I didn't venture into the back country I wouldn't own one.

the main reason for this segment of vehicles is that most people think have a higher vehicle is safer...when as many tests have show, they have been far worse. mostly due to roll-over, unable to maintain steering, etc
however the EX will do great in this segment...probably a little smaller than some of the competitors, but the design will attract the consumer.
just curious, no flaming, how come the RX wasnt mentioned in the above? i expect the EX to take a big chunk out of its sales with this design.

Vandetta unlike the Suburu's you like you would know if you weren't talking out your _ss that the RDX has pratically ZERO TURBO LAG because of the variable turbo flow. Another advancement by Acura. But again I do not care about the RDX.

Looks good - it actually fills the Infiniti wagon/hatch void. People may cross-shop this against not only the X3, but the 3 series wagon.

Do not forget the all new X3 for 09. It may have the twin-turbo gas and diesel engines....

And YOU shouldn't forget the GLK, Q5, XC50, BLX and possible small Lexus SUV--the X3 will no longer be the king of this segment. It was the only one in the segment, actually, and that's why it was the best in it.
