So when BMW uses flame design, critics say its too wild, when BMW tones it down, they say its Boring.

WTF do they want?

People will always complain...about anything.

BM3W: Not an accurate assessment. Not too long ago, the worst thing the press said about BMWs was that they were conservatively styled. Arguably true, but this is considerably different than saying they are ugly or boring.

How soon we forget that BMW uses to be able to do no wrong.

Well if the BNW 335i is the best performing car as a whole in its class and it isn't exciting that means the others such as the Audi A4, Infinit G35 and Lexus IS350 are close to dead.

Hey I guess that guy in the video wants a car like the Lotus Elise with race car styling.

You have to admit this BMW is conservative looking.

But have you seen it in person with the 18 or 19 inch wheels?? It's absolutely beautiful. Maybe it won't stand out in the U.K. where pretty much all new cars are really cool looking, but I think it's gorgeous. I WOULD have liked to see the controversial styling remain, but it's still a beautiful peice in my opinion.

Look at the color on the car that was tested. very dull and boring. For this car, the right color will make a very big difference.

That was probably the worst review I have every seen on any car. This guy is a moron.

He says that the interior looks the same as in the 4-door. Duh...its the same 3-series with 2 doors.

Does he even bother to mention that the c-class and the clk-class both have almost the same interiors. And those are considered different models because c-class already has a coupe.

Does this guy even have taste in cars. I mean I thought the 3coupe was the most beautiful BMW since the z8. Even better looking then the 6-series.

Anybody agree?

MPower>AMG>RS

I agree. Top Gear is show, it strives on controversy. When there is not one, they make it up.

Frankly who cares what anyone thinks? It's your freaking car.

Well -- He is just discussing the styling and I honestly would have to concur. I currently own a 2003 330ci and I love it -- I was thinking about trading it in for the 335 and am still considering it but (and I know the performance is much better on the 335 -- it truly drives wonderfully) but the styling just is not there. I love my 330ci -- the interior is wonderful. I love the way it angles toward the driver. The 335 is neither here nor their with styling. It is confused. Not sporty but also not extremely elegant either. It has a tad of both but does not follow through with either I feel. Occasionally, I have seen one with the right color combo/rims, but overall it is not a head turner. I think they could have done better. The rear overhang from the profile is too much. I do, however, love the long hood. Still though, its profile appears weak because of the rear overhang and proportions of the car.

I have to say I think it's hilarious when people say they won't get a new BMW because their old ones had the centerstacks canted more towards the driver than the new ones. People, the dash in the new 3 is still angled towards the driver, just not as much. So fine, they're less angled, but what's important is almost EVERY OTHER CAR ON THE ROAD has a completely flat centerstack. They're not angled 1 degree towards to driver, just perfectly parallel to the front seats. So if you're not going to replace your current BMW with a new one because of the "reduced angle of the centerstack", what are you going to replace it with? A car with none whatsoever?

I think it's beautiful. More elegant than sporty- and that's not a bad thing at all! It definitely is a head turner in the right color, and I'll probably get a 328xi coupe as a winter car. I just wish they had a 335xi coupe! Sedan is so much less cool!

This reviewer seems to believe a coupe needs to look extreme, like a Mercedes SLK. Not sure he's right. The 3-coupe is the sleekest 3-series. What would this guy have said about the 3-sedan taillights? I thought this revision was a universal improvement.

Although this is a Reposted video and old at that, it is just one man's opinion of the 335i coupe. I enjoyed the video. Now I know what Arctic Grey looks like on the Coupe. They really should have chosen Montego Blue if they want an eye catching 335i coupe....Montego Blue is stunning in Coupe form.

The 335i does look very similar to the old 3 series coupe. But hey, looks of a car is subjective. As a whole the car looks good and not boring at all. It's the engine and handling that leaves no doubt this car means business.

It looks weak, especially at the ass. It's so curvy that it reminds me of chick. 'Definitely Not' as manly as G35 coupe. Though 335 should outperform G35 of this generation.

Who knows about the next generation......

In truth, BMW is struggling with their styling. TopGear knows it. BMW knows is. That's why they dare not take a chance with their "bread and butter" 3-series.

From the day the current 7 was unveiled, it was greeted with a chorus of "yuck" from the press and the public at large. almost 5 years later, we're getting used to the ugly dog, but it still ain't a pretty sight.

Today's 5-er is uglier still. It took BMW to show the world that you can create a solid performer, make it ugly as sin, and still sell a bunch of 'em.

So is the 3-series boring? From the outside, you can easily mistake it for any number of Asian cars. From the inside, one may argue that Honda looks better. Personally, I don't think that's a good thing. At least from the outside, it is inoffensive.

Lest anyone think I hate BMWs, be reminded that I have 3 of them in my garage, all 100% Bangle-free. My BMWs were built in the days when the worst thing that was said about them, was they were conservatively styled.
