So now telling the truth is hate speech?! I had no idea that there were so many people who condone/promote the torcher of sentient animals. It is disturbing and repulsive. There are so many silly "arguments" above attempting rationalize these unethical acts, for example, fighting contests between consenting, professional fighters? Zero relevance. Or, that mistreatment of animals in the USA (which is also wrong) somehow negates the agony of an animal in Asia. Beyond ridiculous. Go on people, I dare you to watch at least three videos of how dogs and cats are treated in Asia in the food and fur trades and then just TRY to sleep at night as a defender of this. Maybe after you hear the screams of agony as the skin is peeled off of a live Shepard or Racoon dog the few of you with any heart at all will change your position.

the reference to professional fighting is EXTREMELY relevant. what makes the atrocities so bad isn't that the acts are not consensual. what makes them bad is that an animal is being harmed. would these acts be okay if the dog could give consent (i'm completely serious)? consenting adults commit suicide, but it is still illegal. the same should go for people trying to give themselves brain damage in a cage fight.

i wasn't rationalizing the korean brutality, just asking why that specific instance stands out to you while others don't.

Not gonna happen. The Chinese navy only navigated the open ocean for the first time recently when they had one of their warships pay a friendly visit to a U.S. port. Centuries ago, their sea-faring ships only hugged the coast of Africa according to the Chinese historians I saw on TV last year. They currently buy their ship building technology from the Russians which isn't exactly leading edge stuff.

Some people on earth find the cow to be holy, while we consume the most beef in the world. Does this mean, we are less holy or humane then people from India?
