Will,The Acura CSX is supposed to be a Civic with leather and Acura badge. They do not go to much length to differentiate them ala ES 350/Camry. Compare the Civic and CSX's interior. They would never pin this against the Lancer and Impreza because the whole point is that the CSX is supposed to be the "classy civic". Putting the CSX against the Lancer and Impreza would be the complete opposite!— Hyundai (View Profile)

How are the Camry and ES 350 the same? I'll admit that the older generations are pretty much the same, but I think that Lexus has made it clear with the new ES 350 that they aren't a Toyota. If you made a list, there would be more differences than similarities between the two cars. The only thing the have that is the same that I can think of on the spot is the engine, other than that, nothing.— lexusis350 (View Profile)

I meant Acura didn't try to differentiate the CSX from the Civic as opposed to how Lexus differentiated the ES 350 largely from the Camry. The ES 350 looks like a Lexus. The Camry looks like a cutting edge new Toyota. The Civic looks like a CSX and vice-versa.— Hyundai (View Profile)

NO way. You see with Acura's other models none of them look like anything that Honda sells in the US. RSX - Not sold as Honda in US (Integra)TSX - European & Japanese Accord (No Honda Version in US)TL - Nothing that looks like in US.RL - Honda Legend (No Honda Version in US)MDX - Pilot doesn't look like itNSX - No Honda Version. My point is that the CSX looks too much like the Civic and it would hurt Civic sales; the CSX would just be bad venture. I mean look at the G20 from Infiniti, the MB C230 hatchback, BMW 318ti, etc. Acura doesn't need this thing. — kart1 (View Profile)

Acura's prices are actually going up. Check out the RDX and MDX. I think you'll see the TL go up as they tinker with the engine some more. The funny thing is that with a fully tuned Si engine, this would beat the BMW 323i easily, and for $10,000 less. To those who don't pretend to have one of everything, that's a good chunk of change.— huu76 (View Profile)

Yes, but you must admit, Brit accents are stronger than American accents, and so are Canadians (but to a lower extent). It's odd how Americans have different accents throughout the nation; people from Boston have the worst ones, not to offend anyone here from Boston. Do you say "city" very classy-like? Because there's not much other way to say it.Acura: A-CURE-A is how to pronounce it.And this CSX is very stupid. I once saw an Acura EL, which used to be the re-badged Civic that was sold in Canada.— S4cabriofox (View Profile)

golly gosh, i do do say city, with a t. classy? we all say city here, not ciddy.people have misconceptions about a british accent, nobody here talks like the traditional image of britishness. there are a ton of accents, the most common is probably estuary english (dropped ts, er's go to a's ie don't know becomes dunno). everyone who's not from the north, birmingham or cornwall speaks it, and if you are upper middle class, you speak it mixed with standard english (like me).american accents are really strong to me, you can instantly tell, it's more whiney than other accents (LA seems to be one of the strongest, on words with Os in them especially).the are a few americans in my year at school, they all say ciddy, kneow (in lieu of know), neame (name), and generally drag their words out more (again seems to be an LA thing, one from chicago says bull instead of bill, and adds more As and Us, LA adds more Is and Es).the guy in the video said Acc-ura.— Rupert (View Profile)

If Acura added enough differences to it than the Civic, like a V6, SmartAccess, xenon lights, etc. then they should definetely sell this car. That would give it enough differences to the Civic to make it more of a luxury brand than a Honda.— lexusis350 (View Profile)

It has Xenon headlights, and an upgraded stereo and a bunch of other minor things that you wouldn't notice (i.e. shifting paddles if you like them, detuned Civic Si engine).Acura doesn't try to hide the fact that it's based off the Civic, in fact, they've used it to their advantage by selling it as more of a Premium Civic with sporting flare (Honda's racing research).— huu76 (View Profile)

Well, you obviously haven't driven a TSX 6MT then. This car definately has the credintials to make it an entry level sports sedan. Probably has the best shifter on the planet, and easily one of the most refined engines in that segment. Give it a try sometime.— macpowah (View Profile)

Tell people the truth and mention that you're comparing this to the Civic Si which is $30K. The CSX tops out at $26K. So yeah, rule of thumb, $1000 = $20/month more in payments. Hmmm, gee, the math makes sense. You must have missed all the times I mentioned I'm from Canada. So good luck slipping anything by me, especially if it involves Southern Ontario/GTA.— huu76 (View Profile)

Essentially it IS a rebadge of a Civic. But has anyone at least looked at the specs on the engine? HELLO!!!!! It has the 2.0L 4 cylinder engine from the RSX, and in you can't get the Civic with Nav or leather here in canada. That's why you'd move to the CSX. Some people preffer the styling of the CSX to the Civic, and the 197hp 2.0L engine will make its debut on the CSX Type S later on. — macpowah (View Profile)
