TOP GEAR: EVO vs STI vs S4
Here it is from Top Gear. The comparison between the Mitsubishi Evo VIII, the Subaru Impreza STI, and the Audi S4. This comparison is between the original 4 wheel driver in rally to the champs of today. Look at the video for the verdict.

This "comparison" was made specifically for 14 year olds to get into flame wars over?
I see no other purpose than that. The two market segments (Subaru, Mitsu on one side, Audi on the other) are nearly orthogonal and very few people who are interested in one would consider the other one.

I almost bought an EVO if not because of Mitsubishi's
reliability problems. Subaru is more dependiable but didnt like the look of the headlight.

Wow, reliability really is all Lexus fans think about.
Sad...
It keeps you from buying so many amazing cars.

I completely agree with the verdict.
But would I ever buy either of those? Hell no!

I'd take the Audi S4.
The other cars are to ugly for my driveway.

I think S4 was actually referring to owning a EVO and STI.

I think the S4 was actually the quickest around the Top Gear track, I want to see the ending.

No, I believe the EVO the FQ 320 version is just as fast as Gallardo. Look for that video on You Tube. Wait let me find it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Pv4l11Ho1k&mode=related&search=. There you go it is actually Evo MR FQ 320.

I was talking about the cars tested in this video, out of all of them the S4 was the fastest, or at least the comments on youtube said that. The Evo that followed the Murcielago was the FQ 400 version that has so much turbo lag that it is basically pointless.

Ok, yet the S4 is slower than the EVO in the Video which is the FQ 320. Did you see how the EVO basically left both the Audi and the Subie behind??? Watch the video.

It is slowe in a straight line, but it could be quicker around the Top Gear track. And there is no such thing as a FQ 320 here in the states, so no point of comparing that. The current EVO here tops out at 286 horsepower. I want to the the remaining part of the video where all three are driven by the Stig around the Top Gear track.

The video also said the Audi was the most appliance like as well, while the Evo was the most fun to drive.
Why are they putting a V8 up against a couple of fourbangers?

Because, in the bizarre world of the British auto industry, the $50,000 V8-powered S4 and the 300hp $30,000 STi are competitors.

Impressive! I would go with the Subaru because the Mitsibutsi doesn't honor warrantes if you drive them like the video! And quality issues have been an issue for the Mitsibutshi. Other than that the evo is awesome!
