While I am sure many people will roll over the fact that Lamborghini did, in fact, build a sport-utility vehicle previously, we cannot forget that the supercar manufacturer did slot in a V12 engine in a jacked-up chassis way back in the late 1980s. Essentially, it was created for the sheikhs in the Middle East that wanted to do some fast dune hopping.

Take two!

Since the company displayed a concept dubbed the Urus, it's been the object of affection for many. That's because it looked killer and the thought of an exotic-powered SUV seems to get gearheads all sorts of giddy.

So, it's been leaked via a company-issued video and now we're awaiting its December debut. Well, there's some good news, Spies. Our friends abroad have had a go in a pre-production unit in Italy and there's quite a bit to talk about.

First, I found it interesting that the company is using the BMW X5M as its benchmark. Second, it will produce 641 horsepower via a 4.0-liter V8 motor. Zero to 60 happens in a claimed 3.7 seconds although the tester notes he clocked it at 3.35 seconds. Last, but not least, the all-new Urus isn't perfect.

But rather than spell it out for you, let me give you just a taste. Check out the full write up by clicking "Read Article" below!

First impressions?

Lamborghini expects the Urus to find 3500 customers a year, thus doubling the marque’s sales and giving it a useful presence in the most profitable segment of a booming market. Some of those sales will be on the strength of its image, but the Urus is actually a splendid motor car.

It can do things no other SUV would even attempt to achieve – at least, not until Ferrari’s SUV arrives – and it does so with the rare pace and agility previously only available in Lamborghini’s cramped and compromised coupé-shaped packages.

The Urus has many talents, but its key assets are the totally involving handling and the raw sports car-like performance all the way to the limit.
