That was a good read, for those unaware of the previous history of the GT-R's this article should bring you up to date.

Technology sure has moved on, the new GT-R just destroyed the older models despite being bigger and heavier.

Cool article. For those clowns that say that you need prestige to earn respect, there you have it, four generations of GTR badges. One of my favorite the R33, it smoked the whole world by being the first production car to break the 8 minute mark at the Ring.
History is simply repeating one more time, just that now the U.S. knows about it.

Yes, it did, but it was a Tweaked R33, don't forget that. The New GT-R, looks best in black, in fact, they should sell it only in black, and use Henry Ford's tagline, "You can have it any color you want, as long as it's black"

Seriously though, this GT-R just put an end to the Porsche genre.

Naw, it just make Porsche Better. Actually, Car magazine says that the GT_R feels like it runs out of steam in the top end, whereas the 997 Turbo keeps going. I'm guessing that is due to being developed for the Autobahn .

Porsche can forget about catching the GTR, it'll never happen. They should just focus on bringing back cars like 928 which was a proper car (engine in the right place) and it didn't look like a beetle.

Auto001, the Porsche has a higher top speed, so in the end, the GT-R, will be out of breath...

The way some you act, Porsche is now dead...This is the same company that has won countless Le Man's (and hundred of GT races as well) against some very stiff competition, the Toyota GT-1 included. Yet Nissan hasn't won one yet, only Mazda is the sole Japanese company that has.
