I have to disagree. They are not over rated. They never claimed to beat the Ferrari's out there. The SL is luxurious and has great power. It's just too bad it's so heavy but it was never intended to be a track car but more of a luxurious cruiser type. Just so happens the Sl55's and SL65 were so powerful. Nice cars but if I wanted a luxury GT the SL would be my choice. If I wanted a performance sports car then any rest of those 4 would be the better choice.

I know, its not a bad car, anything above the sl550 is heavy and kinda floppy. but aside, its nice.

Ferrari F430 outdated?

It is by far the most advanced car on the list, with F1-derived chassis technology which can be electronically adapted to suit the driver at the flick of a switch.

That 'just me' comment is fitting considering your track record of ill-informed opinions.

Performance:

911 (depending on Spec ie. GT3, turbo, etc)
F430
R8
Mercedes SL
Aston Martin DB9

Those are my performance pick. Looks are a different story. btw, a Gallardo is not bad, but more of a show car.

I don't think the cars are in numerical order. I think they just listed it as the top 5 but not in order from 1-5. It doesn't seem right. I think the 911, R8, and F430 is the best all around sports car but the SL is the most luxurious one out of these 5 and the Aston Martin comes second behind the SL.

yah theres no way the sl can be first because it is a luxury care more than a hyper car.. the amg's are fast but not balanced as well as the race bred ferrari's, porsches, r8, and even the aston. i would kill to own any one of these.. for 100-200 these are best money can buy.

yes i have driven the car but when you drive a porsche or ferrari it has a better sense of direction in the corners compared to the sL..

The XKR should have been on that list. i know the people who own that site i will ask them why isnt the xkr in this list its a nice car too. anyway i should tell them to make a better comparison.

1. Lexus SC430
2. Lexus SC400
3. Toyota Supra

The cars I've just mentioned above are better than any other car in this entire thread.

The SC400 is underpowerd and too heavy, the JDM soarer twin turbo is mutch better.

Interesting conversation your all having. I know that the Corvette wasnt invited to this party but my 2007 Z06 will beat down all of these cars in pretty much every performance category and still leave me with enough money to go down to the neighborhood Porsche dealer and pick up a 911.

The Corvette may be faster but it has truck suspension and interior finesse that a 3 year old child could better. It's cheap for a reason. Hence the more expensive Caddy XLR (Although I still don't like that).

I don't think one could have a Corvette as a daily driver, but I think all these cars could be (Perhaps with the exception of the Ferrari).
I'm guessing you don't use the Corvette as your commuter car? I reckon if you did you would be wishing for better interior appointments, as in traffic, 7.0 litres won't help you be any more comfortable.

I would've had the Lambo Gallardo, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and the Bentley Continental GT.

Except the bentley gt is no where near a sports car. Very observant as usual.
