Now when we drove the 2011 BMW 1M, Agent 001 and I were very impressed.

Though it featured a forced-induction powerplant, and broke one of M's "rules," we thoroughly enjoyed it on the road and on the track.

In fact, I would have one of these over the E92 M3 any day of the week.

But we only had a day with it at the North American launch -- mine in New York and 001's in SoCal. The better question is how does it stack up over the long term. Well, Autocar's Steve Sutcliffe is here to sort that out below.
