Volvo spices up its V70 wagon with R-Design package
Volvo is expanding its R-Design trim package to include its V70 sport wagon that “spotlights a new dimension” of the best-selling vehicle, according to the Swedish automaker.
The V70 R-Design option package will feature a variety of exterior and interior enhancements such as a chrome or “silk metal finish” R-Design badged grille, chrome fog light and rearview mirror housings, a bigger exhaust tip and a body colored rear spoiler.
In an effort to slightly improve handling performance, engineers have lowered the car around a half-inch and installed bigger 18-inch R-Design aluminum wheels. According to Volvo, this combination is said to be a balanced performance package that maintains Volvo’s traditional drivability in severe weather conditions.
Most of the R-Design treatment on the V70 was focused inside the passenger cabin, with unique perforated leather trimmings and improved bolstering on all seats. The wagon’s standard steering wheel has been replaced by a smaller sports wheel, while the standard rubber pedals were swapped for aluminum pieces.

Volvo is another company I think is under-rated. Some of you are fan boys who say Volvo isn't good but I thought you guys didn't care about the bling-factor!. If that's the case what's wrong with a Volvo? their Scandinavian luxury cars. They've always been built well (at least the one's ive sat in) and their as solid as they come.
If Volvo had hired the marketers for Lexus I'm sure they'd be much better off. You guys have to realize it's all marketing. If it wasn't for marketing you think Lexus would be as popular in the United States? Probably not.

Yet they look better than any Lexus or Japanese equivalent.

It may not be much to most of you, but for us dads who have much more to consider other than HP and torque, and who still want to be cool, this makes us down right salivate!

No kiddin'
There is this, the Outback XT with a manual, or an Audi S4 Avant 6mt. These are the new cars as a father, that I think are practical and cool.

We all know Volvos aren't bad cars but how many times do I have to see the same regurgitated article about this R-Design package. THIS IS NOT NEWS!

No, really...it's true, they do look better. Look more expensive, elegant and higher specs with right exterior choices make them look sportier. Interiors, especially that of the S80 look very nice, and all materials are of a very good quality.

And i just noticed, you said German fan boy. Volvo are Swedish. So the fact I'm a German fan boy, has nothing to do with it at all. Now not sure whether you were just trying to be funny...
