Webrides.tv pits Nissan GT-R against Ford GT
The much lauded Nissan GT-R has been out long enough to be pitted against what many consider to be its main arch rival, the Porsche 911 Turbo, by nearly every auto rag. One even threw in a BMW M3 that somehow beat it, and no one's been able to get General Motors to give up a Corvette Z06 to go head-to-head with the GT-R. So what is there left with which to compare Nissan's crowning achievement? Webrides.tv, which produces some of the web's highest quality video comparisons of cars, thought it would be fun to compare the GT-R with Ford's late, great GT supercar. But oh, this isn't just any test of a GT-R against some guy's collectible GT. Both vehicles are owned by none other than Kazunori Yamauchi, the man behind the Gran Turismo series of driving sims. Yamauchi considers the Ford GT to be the most beautiful design in the history of automobiles, and its no slow-poke, either. The folks at Webrides.tv built their own Super Lap track on a stretch of flat asphalt no wider than a two-lane highway to compare the two. The comprehensive way in which they break down the capabilities of each car is a pleasure to watch. Can the 480 hp GT-R take on the 550 hp GT ?

The Nissan GT looks like a trendy POS next to the Ford GT.

And EL34 sounds like a you know what next to anyone who thinks rationally.

Trendy presupposes that the car has style. The GT-R is about as nondescript as you can get for something touted as a "supercar."

very good match, respectable results, and i am amazed the GT came on top, despite the fact it has better engine ratings. if I could take one home, it would be the GT-R as well faster than a heart beat.

Yes, the Ford GT wins by two-tenths and it definitely looks better than the GT-R.

v-spec is another story. but then again it's not like Ford can't dump in more power in anyways. Anyone can do that.

The Ford GT is a hands down better looking car than the GT-R, but I'm surprised that another car actually beat Godzilla. The last few weeks all I have been reading is GT-R wins... GT-R wins... good to see it has some competiton... even if it is from an older car.

The GT is definitely a super car but the GTR did pretty well for itself despite being some 400 pounds heavier and down 70 HP. Respect to both cars.

R8 Diesel is the ultimate choice.

Nissan did something right with the GTR if it can be beat by another car and still have the reviewer wanting it regardless.

Keep in mind the GT costs twice that of a GT-R as well.

I'd honestly have a hard time deciding between the two. I can't tell you which one I'd rather have at this point (especially considering I haven't driven or even sat in either ;)

"Nissan did something right with the GTR if it can be beat by another car and still have the reviewer wanting it regardless"

or the reviewer is just heavily biased.

It always has to come down to the price.

We all know the GT-R comes no where close to the cars its put up against. The GT-R is not exotic that's why..hate it or love it..it's true.
