After lots of time behind the wheel of the s class, I can say with a straight face it's nothing more than a German ls460. The 7 has always and will always run circles around it. You buy the 7 if you care about driving, and you buy that other thing when all you care about is trying to impress your neighbors and golf buds (which will only happen if they've never driven one or they know nothing about cars). — tattedtwice (View Profile)

DID YOU WATCH THIS VIDEO! The whole point in the end was that the new 7 doesn't have the driving experience one would expect and that in THIS generation the S-Class seems to be a better drive now. The 7 series look much better than the s class and A8, have you seen in person? inside it looks much better than the S class, the A8 looks okay but dated. I have not seen anywhere that the 7 series get bad rewievs, it got a more hard ride than an s class, but it is buid that way. The new c class and E class looks pretty cheap inside and ugly outside, Mercedes have lost it.— MPowerDK (View Profile)

Guys take it easy. An opinion is an opinion, but this is just 5th gear. You guys are getting excited over nothing. I don't know if the new 7 is better than the old (I'm yet to check it out) or the current S550, but I'll tell you one thing. I've watched enough 5th gear shows to realize that their reviews are about as useful as a pimple on a teenager's face. Their comments are usually unsightful, shallow and downright sad for so-called car enthusiasts, and when they criticize (Vicki and Jason especially), they just sound like whinners in pain. Jason, reviews like a retired BTCC robot, only talks about handling and not much else. Tiff is the best of the rest, but still suffers from the same general ailment the show suffers from: a lack of creativity. Forget about whether you agree with his 7 series assessment just listen to their process for judging, the I-drive evaluation, and their overall verdict..its a joke. So rest easy mon freres, and thank god there are still shows that demonstrate "relatively" better thought processes and creativity like Autocar and Top Gear. FYI..One of the few reviews they've done that made sense out of the many were the old Maseratti Q with the shitty transmission (duh..everyone knows that), the Audi R8 (duh..impossible to find a negative review), and ferrari 360 so you go figure. What a joke...wonder why this knock-off show still runs.. Guys. Here's a link to website that captures relatively decent and more comprehensive reviews if you care.
