Evidence continues to mount that car manufacturers are barking up the wrong tree with their push to convince motorists that ethanol-powered cars are a great way to pursue a green agenda.

Claims by car makers here in Europe like Saab, Ford and Volvo, that burning a so-called renewable fuel like ethanol, made from corn or sugar derivatives, cuts green house gas emissions by up to 80 percent, have been called into question.
