Iran plans to double its car production to two million a year by 2015, the head of major auto manufacturer Irankhodro said on Tuesday.

Irankhodro is the largest car manufacturer in the Middle East.

Manteghi said Irankhodro produced 635,000 cars in 2006, and planned to boost production to 1.2 million annually in 2015, 200,000 of which would be made in its factories outside Iran.
