Following the announcement at the start of the year that the ungainly Acura Advanced Sports Car Concept would come in for a redesign, most suspected the updated design would be rolled out at next week’s Tokyo Motor Show. Not so according to Honda. Since the launch of its Acura division in Japan has been delayed by two years, officials deemed it unnecessary to show a new concept at this year’s Tokyo Show.

Now Honda might bring in the new concept as a last minute challenger for Nissan’s GT-R and Lexus’ LF-A concept. Nissan pulled a similar stunt when it rolled out the original GT-R Concept back at the 2001 Tokyo Show and now Honda could do the same.
