BMW has launched a new engine line-up for the BMW 6 Series range, introducing a new diesel engine to the Grand Tourer Coupe and Convertible model.

The 635d twin-turbocharged engine is complemented by the introduction of BMW’s EfficientDynamics technology to the whole of the 6 Series line-up.

The 3-litre common-rail turbo engine has an output of 286 horses and develops peak torque of 428lb-ft at 1,750rpm and uses two turbocharger for low-down and mid-range torque.

The BMW 635d Coupe manages 62mph in 6.3 seconds while the Convertible achieves this in 6.6 seconds, with both going on to an electronically-limited to 155mph.
