The import-brand auto dealers' association sounded an alarm today over a planned addition to the farm bill now in the House.

House Democratic leaders plan to insert a provision that would increase taxes on U.S. subsidiaries of overseas-based corporations, said Cody Lusk, president of the American International Automobile Dealers Association.

Although the provision is not aimed at automakers, it would hit the U.S. arms of Toyota, Honda, Volkswagen and other companies, Lusk said.
