One thing that automakers like to puff their chest out and brag about are production numbers. I don't know why because at the end of the day it doesn't matter how many you're producing if the quality is garbage and there is no one out there to buy them. But, like many things in the automotive world, some things will never make sense.
Since the official production figures won't be out until this summer, The Truth About Cars settled itself in and worked out some rough numbers of their own while sticking as close to the official standards of the guys who publish these figures -- their name is OICA.
The top five remains largely the same, however, one manufacturer made a move to bump someone down a spot. With that said, take a look at the top five and let us know who you think got upgraded and who got downgraded:
1) Toyota Group
2) General Motors Group
3) Volkswagen Motor Group
4) Hyundai Motor Group
5) Ford
