I purchased a 2008 Jeep in early January. I did the research on-line and found the Jeep that I had wanted. All I needed to do was take it for a test drive and negotiate price, a pretty easy sale for the salesman. One of the tires was low but it was very cold out and marked it up to the cold weather. I was pleased with the test drive and proceeded to make the purchase.
Well, about a month after the purchase the same tire was low again. I put air in the tire and I called the salesman and he said to bring it in if it went low again. Well, about a month later it went low again. I brought in the Jeep and they checked the tire. Sure enough... There was a nail in the tire. I told them that they should replace the tire because it was like that when I made the purchase. They said that if you replace one tire you should replace all of them. That would cost me about $600.00! I didn't think that was a fair deal considering I have only owned the Jeep for a little over two months. The least they should do is cut me a deal on replacing the tires.
This was their solution... They patched the tire but didn't feel very confident about the patch job because of the way the nail was in the tire. If it goes low again I should give them a call and they'll "see what they can do." Well... That doesn't make me feel very confident or safe in the mean time.
I was very shocked that they didn't stand behind their product. I am very disappointed in the managers specifically because they refused to admit that they sold me a Jeep that had a nail in one of the tires. They actually tried to say that it could have been from the wear and tear since the purchase. I drive in town 95% of the time, not much wear and tear!
